30 Week Check-Up

Everything was fine at our 30 week check-up today. Braylon's heartbeat was at 140 and as usual, he kept kicking the doppler every time the nurse would move it around--busy kid I tell you!

Anyhow, belly and baby are measuring right on for 30 weeks and other than being slightly anemic I am good! Oh, may I mention that I have gained a whopping 28 pounds! Funny, the nurse told me to "be careful these last several weeks on the weight gain", just after she tells me I need to be eating more red meat due to iron deficiency. Yah, makes a lot of sense to me. Well, no more Oreos and milk for awhile I guess!! Baby AND Mommy will be very disappointed!

Shayla vs. "The Light"

My Aunt and Uncle have two wire-haired terriers whose favorite hobby is chasing the beam from a red laser light pen. It's hilarious to watch and it's great recreation and exercises for the pups.

Anyhow, several months ago David found one of these laser lights on an airplane, and while he has always returned everything that he has found on a plane--this was one thing that he decided to take home for our enjoyment. Anyhoo, Shayla loved chasing "the light" and I loved it because we could keep her busy for hours on end! This activity went on for several weeks until we became bad parents and stopped playing.

I was cleaning out the "junk drawer" the other night...(Yes--you could call it "nesting") when I found "the light". Of course, the batteries were dead but all I had to do was say to Shayla, "Where's the light" and she started prancing around the house determined to find that little red beam. Anyhow, David and I headed out to Walgreen's that night to pick up some more batteries. So here we are on a Saturday night playing with a laser light and our 7 year old cocker spaniel. Shayla is hilarious when she plays this game, and it's kinda cute to see David so involved with it also. It get's me all warm and fuzzy for our playtime with Braylon! And yes of course, You know I wouldn't end this post without a video for your enjoyment! =)

PS...My apologies for the annoying background voice!

Meeting FITZ

So it started out as a pretty regular Sunday. We got up, had a big breakfast, and headed to church. Pastor preached a great word and like every Sunday after church we were deciding where to eat lunch. It was just Debbie and Quisha at church with David and I, so we decided to take them to the new LoLo's located in Scottsdale. For those that don't know about LoLo's Chicken and Waffles, let me tell you--it's a MUST EAT here in the valley. Lolo's is family owned and operated and has become the hot spot for the best fried chicken, soul food, and waffles. The walls are covered with autographs of celebs that make sure to visit LoLo's during their Phx visit.

Anyhow, we arrived at the restaurant and was outside during the 30 minute wait to get seated. The owner, came outside to tell us that she is trying to get us seated as quickly as possible but there was a large reservation scheduled to arrive so she didn't have any open tables at the moment.

A few minutes later the large party drove up in a beautiful black Escalade and lo and behold who was it, but none other than the BEST WIDE RECEIVER in the NFL...My man, Larry Fitzgerald! Debbie nearly fainted at the sight of Larry, as she has professed many times he is the ONLY reason why she watches the Cardinals...lol! Anyhow, Larry was very sweet to all of us, and even agreed to give us his autograph and sign a few photos. He's a genuine guy with a sweet spirit. He was with his whole family, so we didn't want to act too much like the paparazzi, so after a few snaps, we let him be. It made for a great day!

Oh, and for those wondering where Lolo's is, they have two locations: Downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale.

And if you go, don't be surprised if you might run into someone famous! ;)

Renissance Festival

What better way to welcome Spring Time than a trip to the Renaissance Festival! The lovely Shipley family treated us to the festival this year, and what a mighty time it was! Last time we were there was 4 days until our wedding day and lil' Tiffany was not even 6 months old! Here we are 3 years later, and we've got a baby on the way, and Tiffy was running around to see what ride she could get onto next! Wow, how time flys! We had a great time with The Shipleys and look forward to the next time we partake in the Mid-evil Adventure!

"Babymoon" to Vegas

David and I along with my mom, our friend Candy, David's parents, sister and brother-in-law all went to Vegas this past weekend for some much needed "R&R". We had a wonderful time! This was my mom's first trip to Vegas in nearly 5 years, so she was shocked to see all the new buildings. In addition, Quicha and Darnell have only visited Vegas once and that was for just the day, so needless to say they truly enjoyed themselves. Not to mention, it was also their first "vaca" EVER without kiddos!

It seems as if Vegas changes every time I visit, and there are new sights to see. We can't wait to go back, next time we are going to stay at the new hip and trendy five-star resort "Aria". Some of the highlights were visiting the Madame Tussauds wax museum and eating ourselves silly at the buffets. We had a great time, and it was nice to have some valuable time with the family before David and I enter into "mommy-daddy ville".

3D Ultrasound

Well, our last time seeing our lil' guy before his arrival was amazing! Since my pregnancy is right where it should be, our doctors office will not be performing any other ultrasounds. I just couldn't wait until my delivery date to see him again, so we decided to visit "Prenatal Peek" here in Phoenix, and boy was I glad we made that choice! For those prego mommies, I definitely recommend this place.

We had a 45 minute ultrasound in a soothing and comfortable environment. Our lil' guy was active as always and was not camera shy at all. Daddy asked the tech 3 times "Are you sure it's a boy"? Well, let's just say Braylon was making sure daddy had the answer to that question as he was putting his goods out there for the world to see! We also were able to see that Braylon will have daddy's lips and mommy's nose. He has little bony legs and ten fingers and toes!

We left with prints, a CD, and a DVD of the experience and were just amazed to see what God has created. We can't believe how people can even question God's existence after seeing something like this form from what was just once a cell.

"Tastes Like Orange Crush"

Today was my 27 week screening to make sure I haven't developed Gestational Diabetes. O boy was it fun drinking the infamous Orange "soda" before getting my blood drawn. Surprisingly it wasn't as bad as I thought. In fact, I wish tums would come in liquid form similar to this...I wouldn't have to complain as much about lovely "pregnancy heartburn", as I despise the chalky substance of tums.

We met our new doctor and we are really happy with her! Despite the changes at the practice, she assured me that if I go into labor during the week, there's a 99.9% chance she will be present for the delivery. I am praying that this is the case, as I feel absolutely comfortable with her already!

Belly and baby are both measuring perfect and things are coming along great. Yes, I have been truly blessed to have had such an amazing pregnancy thus far. I have had many many friends that have had some pretty rough experiences, so I feel very lucky!

Eeeekk! We go tomorrow for our 4D pics of the lil' mister! We can't wait, I hope he cooperates and smiles pretty for the camera. Hmmm....he seemed to really get a "kick" from my orange soda today, if only I could have some more of that. =)

Before I leave you, I decided to be brave and post a bare belly photo...I must warn you, this is the first, and will probably be the last. I feel silly posting this, but I've had many requests (not really sure why--lol)
