Janecke, Party of 4

I am pleased to announce that after 35 weeks and 4 days, David and Candice welcomed not one...but two amazing boys into their world. Tristen David and Noah Glenn both arrived via C-section on February 25th. Both weighing in at 5 pounds the boys are healthy for being slightly pre-mature. Candice and David couldn't be more elated and have already become such great parents. They will spend the next 2 months bonding with each other and getting accustomed to a schedule (yah right...hehehe) before David leaves for Afghanistan. I cannot imagine how hard this must be for them both, but we know it will be a matter of time before he returns. On the upside, we are all glad that he will return before the boys will become "mobile" or have their first birthdays. After all, some families don't get that opportunity. The sacrifice that these Military Families make is unbelievable and we are so blessed to have men like David on our front line, protecting us and working for our continued freedom. Congrats Candice and David, we can't wait to squeeze them!

Celebrating 4 Years

David and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary today and we had an amazing day! Starting with the gym and brunch. It's the simple things in life that make me smile, and days spent with David and Braylon are by far my favorite! That afternoon, David told me to head to the mall for a few hours of shopping and pampering. It was priceless to be able to have a little bit of time to myself, oh the things we take for granted. Later that evening Nana came over to watch Braylon so daddy and I could have a date night. Can you say, WELL DESERVED? This was the first time since our little man arrived that David and I enjoyed a quiet dinner as a duo. We treated ourselves to a delicious meal at Mastro's followed by "dessert" at "As You Wish" where we painted ceramics. I have been asking for David to take me there for over 9 years (yes--9 years) and he FINALLY got the message and took me. We had an amazing time, and I think he enjoyed the painting more than me =) I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband, God knew exactly what I needed.

9 Months!

Geez, I fee like a broken record, but it seriously seems like yesterday that I was posting Braylon's 8 month entry. Wow, I can't believe here we are again. This month has been a blast, we have been very busy. Let's see, for starters Braylon is getting into everything and crawling like a mad man! I am constantly chasing him around the house and he has captured the nickname of "Curious George" by daddy and I. He pulls the photo albums off the shelf, he climbs under my desk in hopes of unplugging my computer, and he even tips over our 3 foot tall stainless steel trash can. I'm telling ya, this kid is a handful, but I am loving every single piece of this stage. My goal for this week is to find a gate so I can "lock him in" during his playtime. Aside from crawling he is standing up on everything. It's scary because our house is 75% tile, and I am so afraid one of these days he's gonna go boom...hard. So every time he goes to stand, there we are right next to him...just in case. Jeez, if going to the gym doesn't get these last few pounds off, I know chasing Bray around will.

Braylon's 9 Month check up went great. Our Peditrician informed us once again, that Bray has no issues in the height or weight department. He is in the 90 percentile all the way around, and weighs 23.5 pounds. He must have lost a few pounds since he started crawling, as I swear the kid feels heavier than that. He got his TB test, and that was negative so we are alllll good! I asked the doctor about Bray conintuing to get colds. She told me that he can have up to 10...yes 10 cough/congestions episodes in the first year. WOWZA! He's had about 5 since birth and I was thinking that was alot! Well, it did make me feel better that I guess he is "in the norm" and I am so happy to say we have a healthy tot on our hands.

Mom and Bray's first flight!

You may not know, but my mom has not been on an airplane since 1980! After 2 back to back "rough flights" mom vowed to never fly again. Well as Justin Bieber says "Never Say Never". On February 20th, Mom, David, Braylon, Debbie, Rod, and Quisha all jumped on Southwest Airlines, bound for a play day in VEGAS. Mom did great! As we entered the plane, I told the two pilots about mom "taking the plunge" they were so excited for her, they invited her in the cockpit to visit with them. It was great, they assured her that they had things under control and they would do their best for a "bumpy free flight". Well, they kept with their word, other than a few short bumps during our Vegas decent, we landed. Braylon did great and only cried out a few times. We had a great time in Vegas, of course partaking in a tasty brunch at the MGM buffet. We walked the calories off during the day seeing the sights. Our flight home that night was seamless, which made mom a happy girl. She had a great start at getting over her fear and we are all so proud of her. We will put her to the test again as we take up Honolulu to visit Candice and the twins in May. We cannot wait!

Baby's First Valentines Day

It was a different but amazing Valentines this year with a an adorable little "cupid" handing around. David had to work that evening so instead we celebrated during the day. We had a great breakfast together followed by a visit to the gym (good thing after all the chocolate I ate) and then a romantic lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Yes, I can still have romance with my hubby with the "Jr" around. In fact, I don't think there is anything more romantic than watching your husband with your child, it's priceless. We had a wonderful day and I am sooo blessed to have two such amazing people in my life, which is the best gift I could ask for.

David and I will enjoy a "night out" next week to celebrate our 4 YEAR Wedding Anniversary. I can't believe it's already been that long since we said "I DO". I love him today more than yesterday and I am truly thankful for what God has given me.

Superbowl XLV

We had a great time watching the Superbowl this year! Family came over and we enjoyed yummy food and lots of laughs. It was also a great game to boot! Well, I guess as good as any Superbowl could be that didn't include the AZ Cardinals. -wink-

"DaDa"

Well, it's OFFICIAL...Braylon's first word is "DaDa". I must say, I was quite surprised, as he has been mumbling "mmmaaaa" when he's crying and I thought for sure ANY DAY he would master "MaMa". However, out of the blue-he started say "DaDa, Dada, Dada, over.and.over.and.over.again. I even follow up with "MaMa"...and he replies with "DaDa". It's hilarious! I FINALLY was able to catch a quick video last night during bath time.
