First Blogging Attempt...Bonnie's 26th Birthday

So today is my 26th birthday. I couldn't think of a better time than to try this "blog" thing out. David and I don't have kiddies yet, so our lives aren't filled with that much excitement but heck I love memories, and love to document my life as much as possible-so why not give this "blogging" a try. As I get ready to turn out the lights for the night I wanted to share a little bit on how my birthday weekend was. Wow did I have an amazing time.

Saturday, October 21st: I drove with David and my mom to “dinner” for my birthday. After riding blindfolded for over 30 minutes, we finally arrived at the “restaurant” for dinner. As I was escorted by my husband to the entrance, I heard nothing but silence and a few passing cars along the roadway. I thought this was strange since we were supposedly going out to restaurant. As we entered the front door a few moments later, my mom said “Go Ahead, take off your blindfold”. As I took the pink bandanna off my face I was shocked to see and hear those that I love most yell, “SURPRISE!” We were at Candy Harris’ house located in Wittman, AZ. I was greeted and hugged by those very special to me. The Coys, Nathans, Humbers, Grandginny, The Wests, JJ Jennie, Lizzy, Candice, and all the kiddies. I was SHOCKED! This was the first surprise party I have had since my 13th birthday party, just 13 years ago. Everyone was wearing PINK in my honor. The theme of the party was “Princess” because I have been told (a few times) that I am “the princess of the family”. The decorations consisted of a pink barbies, pink Christmas tree, princess plates and napkins, and even a pink background area set up special for photo opts, since everyone knows I don't enjoy taking pictures or anything (wink, wink). The decorations were beautiful. After the shock wore off I was greeted by Aunt Jeanie and told to put on a few items to magnify my "princess experiance". I wore a long brown "princess wig", pink pearl beads, a satin pink tie that read "birthday girl", pink boas, and pink glitter flip-flops.

Our dinner consisted of all of my favorite things; Famous Dave's BBQ, Valle Luna Chips N' Salsa, Spinich artichoke dip, veggies, green salad, mom's famous margaritas, and much more.

For entertainment, my guests wrote out cards expressing their thoughts in sentence's like "We love Bonnie because" and "Bonnie is our princess because". It was so amazing to hear such wonderful things come out of my loved ones mouths. Words of Affirmation, my #1 love language. This was such an humbling experience, wow I will never forget that moment. Even Uncle Cecil wrote something that nearly brought tears to my eyes. Everyone's words of endearment were more than I had ever expected.

The night was capped by a "princess" cake, strawberry chocolate fondue station, and the opening of my presents, which I will always hold dear to my heart.

Thank you Aunt Jeanie and Mom for planning this very special event for me. You both did an AMAZING JOB and your hard work did not go un-noticed. Thank you Candy for opening your beautiful home up to me and my family for this joyous occasion.

Sunday October 21st: David made another dream of mine come true. He took me to "The Melting Pot", a fondue restaurant that I have been waiting YEARS to visit. We indulged in spinach artichoke fondue, gourmet salads, fillet, lobster, shrimp, sirloin, and desert to die for! If you haven't experienced The Melting Pot, you must. It is a very intimate experience, and one you will never forget. Take your wallet, and your patience as it is a true dining experience.

Monday October 22nd: My actual birthday was spent at Chevy's Mexican Restaurant with David, Jeanie, and Jody. We had great conversation and enjoyed the time together, a lunch I will never forget. After lunch my hubby took me shopping as I picked out some new perfume and make-up--what a fun day!

This birthday has been by far been one of my best. I will always remember the love and thoughtfulness that I have felt this whole weekend, from those around me.

Thank you to everyone who made my birthday just a little bit sweeter. I am so blessed to have such amazing, inspiring, and loving people in my life. I thank GOD everyday for each and everyone of you, and I love you all so much! Davey you are "this princess's" prince-never forget that.

XOXO
